Rekindling a Love

As I continue to grow, I realize that there is something that is truly missing from my life. While the world is in quarantine and we all are not able to go anywhere or do anything, I am honestly tired of looking at my four walls and the four people in my house. I am miserable!!! I had to find purpose within myself, find love in me again, you know, find my peace of mind. I decided to find an old love that I had missed since I was a kid. That love, was books…

Growing up, I loved to read. I loved using my imagination and going places I never thought I could. But once I got married, had children, and became a working robot, I stop reading. I came up with excuse after excuse; too much work to do, have to do homework with the kids, or I’m just too tired.

A friend of mines started a book club and it made me fall in love again, and since the whole world has stopped, I have been making an effort to read and/or listen to books, podcast, etc.

This month and hopefully every month I want to highlight a book or two that I think any reader could enjoy. Books that kept my interest before, during, and hopefully after the quarantine.

1.) Monday’s Not Coming, By Tiffany D. Jackson

 - Monday’s Not Coming, is about a young African-American girl, who is on the hunt to figure out how and why her Best Friend disappeared.

The second book I would like to recommend is, The Proximity Principle by Ken Coleman.

The Proximity Principle, is a book to help you make the necessary connections with the right people in the right places.

I hope you all enjoy my picks…
